Heritage of Youngs Chartered Surveyors

When in 1991, the present partners bought out the practice from Ernst & Young, the leading accountancy and financial services firm, the effect was to consolidate the amalgamation of two leading local firms - Arthur Young Chartered Surveyors, originating in Dundee in 1957 and James Turnbull & Son, later Turnbull & Parkinson, founded in Chester le Street, Co. Durham in 1879. These two had first come together in 1986 when the agricultural practice of Turnbull & Parkinson joined forces with Arthur Young Estate Management then part of Arthur Young.

The new firm created in 1991 was Youngs Chartered Surveyors.

The practice now operates from Hexham, Haswell, and Alnwick in the north-east of England with a very broad spectrum of private and company clients using a proactive philosphy.
